Legendary pro wrestling dirt sheet writer extraordinaire, Dave Meltzer is reporting that UFC 91 did somewhere between 800,000 plus buys. Dana White had predicted the big fight would top 2006’s UFC 66 (Liddell vs. Ortiz), which did 1,050,000 ppv buys.
While the projected record fell short of Dana White’s expectations for what was built as the biggest fight in UFC history, the number is still good given the current state of the economy in the United States.
Another factor to point out is that Brock Lesnar has huge drawing power, his pro wrestling fan base has followed him to MMA and has created more viewers of the sport for the UFC.
