The New Kids On The Block are back in full force and I got to listen to their album last week and was very impressed with this project.  Now I know you’re wondering…why would I blog about these cats? The reality is, they’ve sold millions and at one point they represented the face of popular music culture.  And what’s significant is that this group is going to be the ones cock blocking Young Jeezy from The Recession taking the #1 spot on next week’s Billboard 200 ranking.

The Block is a great album, I was surprised how polished their sound was.  What I think is important to note and I think Michael Jackson should really study this project in particular if he really plans a true comeback – is that NKOTB’s sound is still NKOTB, it’s polished and modern enough to compete with today’s radio marketplace.  MJ’s Invicible album that came out in 2001 cost a lot of money to produce and the end result was disappointing by his personal standards.  New Kids worked with some top notch producers and with this end product, I think all their fans (old and new) will embrace the new record.
