MUSIC: Lil’ Wayne getting closer to 1 million sales mark (06/13)

According to a Billboard report, Tha Carter III might become the first album to sell 1 million copies in its first week since 50 Cent’s The Massacre sold 1.1 million in March 2005.
As of Friday, June 13, 2008, Lil’ Wayne’s new album has sold over 630,000 units, which is 30,000 more than Kanye West’s Graduation LP did on the first Friday of that relase. It looks like my prediction of Young Moolah doing 1.2 the first week is still a probability.
If his album gets past the 1 million units sold mark, that would be a grand accomplishment to be proud in an era where album sales continue to decline, album leakages continue and bootlegging is still rampant.
