Bun B was on local Fox TV affiliate KRIV in Houston this morning, promoting the appearance of his first concert since the death of rhyming partner Pimp C, of the legendary Underground Kingz (UGK).
He also spoke about the coroners report on Pimp C’s death, which was attributed to overdosing on codeine syrup and a pre-existing sleep condition known as apnea. He talked about how the group has glorified the sizzurp slang in past songs but has vowed not to mention it in his upcoming solo record II Trill, due April 1st.
Bun is an articulate rapper, a well spoken rap veteran who after 8 albums is only starting to get his due in the mainstream eye. UGK’s 2007 hit, Int’l Players Anthem (I Choose You) featuring OutKast and produced by Three 6 Mafia is a strong candidate to win a Grammy award this Sunday.
